7 years ago I was told that I had chosen the worst time possible to enter the world of Real Estate. I knew about the downturn in the market but no one could have foreseen more than 30,000 earthquakes to follow shortly thereafter! Well they say, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” and that is exactly what I had to do. Proudly I can say that not only did I survive but I also proved that I was among the top 20% of agents who were out there, and are still out there, doing the business.
Having been in sales for 36 years, I have seen and been taught many different ‘hard sale’ techniques. Real estate is different. I pride myself on collecting information up front and having systems in place to deliver this information clearly and efficiently so that buyers and sellers can make truly informed decisions. Listening is very important to build trust. There is a lot of hard earned money at stake for all parties during a property transaction but when buyers feel confident to put their best foot forward, then this is where you see truly great results.
To be a successful agent and continue performing at consistently high levels it is important to stay healthy, focused and fully energised; for this reason, when not working you will find me with family and friends cooking low fructose meals from scratch! Travelling is also very important and where my love of meeting people from different countries and cultures comes from.
